My Favorite Vacation Destinations!
In no particular order here are 5 of my favorite vacation destinations!
Dubai, UAE! Dubai is a city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates known for luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture and a lively nightlife scene. Burj Khalifa, an 830m-tall tower, dominates the skyscraper-filled skyline. At its foot lies Dubai Fountain, with jets and lights choreographed to music. On artificial islands just offshore is Atlantis, The Palm, a resort with water and marine-animal parks. Dubai is like Shanghai, with its audacious architecture, spectacular skylines, obsession with fashion and style, and flourishing contemporary art scene. Contrary to rumours, Dubai does have a rich culture, though most of it is intangible, rooted in Bedouin heritage and traditions of storytelling, poetry, song, dance, and falconry.
Paris, France! The food in France is beyond amazing. While aliments like bread and cheese might sound quite ordinary, they are extraordinary in France. You will see people carrying baguettes in the morning fresh from the patisserie. Also, while in Paris make sure you try escargot; you’ll be surprised with just how delicious snails can be. There are endless options for food in Paris and they will not disappoint. Don’t forget a delicious glass of French wine with your meals! The iconic Eiffel tower is a must in Paris. When visiting in the summer, one can enjoy a lovely picnic on the lawn of the Champs de Mars with the magnificent view of the Eiffel Tower. If the season happens to be winter, there’s an ice skating rink on the lower level of the tower. Can it get more romantic than that?! Also, every hour after sunset the tower is light with sparking lights! Paris has endless things to offer from art galleries, shopping, restaurants and spas. Plus Disney land is just a 40 min drive from the city!
London, England! No matter your reason for visiting, London has something for everyone. History buffs looking to brush up on the British narrative will delight in the Tower of London. Admirers of art or theater will praise the National Gallery and the West End Theatre District, while fans of the monarchy can’t skip Buckingham Palace. Although London is notoriously expensive, the city is filled with historical and modern-day attractions fit for even the most frugal of travelers; however London is definitely a trip I’d save up for… Don’t forget to have afternoon tea, it’s truly something specail.
Los Angelous, California! Los Angeles is a sprawling Southern California city and the center of the nation’s film and television industry. Near its iconic Hollywood sign, studios such as Paramount Pictures, Universal and Warner Brothers offer behind-the-scenes tours. On Hollywood Boulevard, TCL Chinese Theatre displays celebrities’ hand- and footprints, the Walk of Fame honors thousands of luminaries and vendors sell maps to stars’ homes. LA is the perfect last-minute getaway because there’s so much to do there and tons of completely free entertainment, and you don’t need to book in advance. I’ve zipped up there many times, and I’ve always booked everything less than 10 days prior with no issues. There are several awesome hotels to choose from and lots of scenic natural wonders. The beach culture in LA really can’t be beat, especially since it’s home to some of America’s best beaches. The legendary beaches include Venice Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Malibu Beach, Huntington Beach and many others. The shopping, amusement parks, food and galleries are just a few things that make LA such a great vacation destination!
Honolulu, Hawaii! Hawaii, a U.S. state, is an isolated volcanic archipelago in the Central Pacific. Its islands are renowned for their rugged landscapes of cliffs, waterfalls, tropical foliage and beaches with gold, red, black and even green sands. Of the 6 main islands, Oahu has Hawaii’s biggest city and capital, Honolulu, home to crescent Waikiki Beach and Pearl Harbor’s WWII memorials. It’s a great vacation destination perfect for couples or families. Hawaii is filled with beauty and culture.
